Colton- Hello we are students from Mr. Ferrell's class and we are going to be talking about similes and metaphors. A writer uses figurative language to make a story more intertesting. Do you know what a simile is Payton?
Payton- No I don't Colton what is a simile?
Jared- I know a simile is comparing two things using like or as.
Veronica- That is right but I still don't understand.
Colton- We can say the blazers are tough.
Payton-No thats boring. Lets show a picture to help Veronica.
Colton- Okay lets compare the blazers and a spartan army
Jared- The blazers are as fierce as a warior .
Veronica- Okay I understand but what is a metaphor
Payton- A metaphor is saying something is another thing. Metaphors are a lot more powerful than a simile.
Jared- So I could say super dog is smart
Colton- No thats boring. We could say Super dog is Einstein.
Veronica- Now I understand completely.
Jared- Thank you for joining us today.
Everybody- Bye
